Weird, off-beat, dark, intricate, and amazing works by Aubrey Beardsley - get into him!
I took this picture in an alleyway in Barcelona. All I’ve done to it is invert the colors, and I love the effect, as well as the many interpretations of it’s meaning. First, the irony that it is in an alleyway and the message is to never hide. Also, what does the phrase “never hide” mean? Perhaps its telling us to not subdue any part of who we are, to not conform, to question authority and renounce the chains of societal pressure. To take a line from one of the best compositions of all time,
"Be Yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass."
